Heading home

I headed back to the village the next morning and handed the gems over to Inji. She was very happy with my results and offered me more work should I be interested. Unfortunately I have come to the end of my visa and I had just enough time for one last look at the market before heading back home.

As the small plane I was on took off from the little landing place I looked back over the delta, in the short time that I spend in the desert I felt more alive than ever before and I know now that I made the right decision in coming here.

I can see why my parents loved this land so much and I can’t wait to come back.

Love,
Harriet
